The golden autumn blue waves are reported to be beautiful, and the dragon looms in the ocean. At 11:28 on November 10, in the E15 pipe section of the undersea tunnel of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Passage, with the completion of the pouring of the last ballast concrete, the submarine immersed tunnel of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Passage, a major national project, was completed, which also means that the main line of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Passage, the core transportation hub project of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, was completed. On the morning of the same day, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor held a mobilization meeting for the main line of the project and ancillary projects on the west artificial island, and about 22 people from the participating units witnessed this moment.

With a total length of about 24 kilometers, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor integrates "bridges, islands, tunnels and underwater interconnection", and is currently the most difficult cross-sea cluster project in the world. With the completion of the main line, the project has officially entered the stage of sprint and opening to traffic.

Cross Harbour Tunnel "Full Line"

Concrete flows out of the mixer truck and is slowly injected into the final breakthrough point at the E22 pipe section... With the skillful operation of the construction workers, the submarine tunnel of the Shenzhong Passage completed the pouring of all the ballast concrete in the pipe and achieved a breakthrough.

With a length of about 6.8 kilometres, including an immersed section of about 5 kilometres, the Shenzhong Passage is the world's first two-way eight-lane steel-shell concrete immersed tunnel, consisting of 32 pipe sections and 1 final joint.

In June 2023, the Shenzhong Corridor Submarine Tunnel overcame all technical problems, and the world's longest and widest submarine steel-shell concrete immersed tunnel was finally successfully docked with Helong.

After the tunnel is closed, the builders mainly focus on the welding of the inner and lower welding sections of the pipe, the main body grouting, and the foundation grouting. According to Yue Yuanzheng, manager of the Shenzhong Channel Project Department of CCCC First Harbor Bureau, the workers simultaneously carried out the removal of the E23 pipe, the outfitting parts on the top of the pipe, and the sealing and plugging of the manhole well water, etc., and had completed all the main operations inside and outside the final joint at the end of October.

The project stepped up the "fine decoration"

The main line of the Shenzhong Passage runs through, just like the "rough house", and it also needs to be "finely decorated". Now, across the project, builders are speeding up the sprint work.

Walking into the undersea tunnel, I saw large and small construction vehicles shuttling back and forth, and hundreds of builders were busy installing tunnel fireproof boards, decorative panels and related mechanical and electrical facilities. In the middle pipe corridor in the middle of the two-way eight-lane corridor, the workers of the first mechanical and electrical standard of the Shenzhong Passage Project of the 12th Bureau of China Railway are carrying out the pipeline installation and fire protection and smoke exhaust facilities construction in an intense and orderly manner. At the same time, the installation of street lights, guardrails and expansion joints of bridge engineering is progressing in an orderly manner.

At the bridge deck construction site, pavers march in formation, rollers shuttle back and forth, and builders are paving the steel bridge deck. Behind them, the black asphalt pavement slowly unfolded on the Lingding Changhong. According to Mao Nongping, chief engineer of the S15 contract section of the Poly Changshenzhong Channel, the construction team implemented the whole link of mechanized and intelligent construction, which greatly improved the construction efficiency, and planned to complete the pavement pavement of the bridge project early next year, and simultaneously carry out the pavement asphalt pavement in the tunnel.

Next to the 270-meter-high pylons of the Lingdingyang Bridge, builders are operating tower cranes to transport materials. "In the next step, a 'big hat' will be installed on the top of the tower of the Lingdingyang Bridge - the tower crown, which is mainly used to protect the main cable, and the elevator for future maintenance will be installed in the tower, and then we will have the whole line of anti-corrosion coating construction, etc., which are important construction tasks to be completed before the project is opened to traffic." Yao Zhi'an, deputy director of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel Management Center of Guangdong Communications Group, said.

The "Golden Inner Bay" is gradually taking shape

Build the sky road, build the Great Wall, cast the twin islands... One infrastructure "miracle" after another in the Shenzhong Corridor has made Lingdingyang change from "sighing zero" to "sighing greatly".

On December 2016, 12, the west artificial island of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor Pilot Project started. In the face of the risk and waves, tens of thousands of builders worked hard for 28 years to build the world's largest full-span all-offshore steel box girder suspension bridge on the Lingding Ocean, lay the world's first two-way eight-lane steel-shell concrete immersed tunnel, and created the first underwater interchange of the expressway in China.

As an important part of the "A" shaped transportation network framework of the Pearl River Estuary, after the completion and opening to traffic next year, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor will build a balanced, coordinated and future-oriented high-speed transportation network with the completed Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Nansha Bridge, Humen Bridge and other cross-sea and cross-river passages, and the comprehensive transportation convenience of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the traffic capacity of the cross-river passage will be greatly improved.

"While laying a solid foundation for building a 'golden inner bay' around the Pearl River Estuary, it will also provide more space for cooperation, development and imagination for cities along the route." Deng Xiaohua, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Guangdong Communications Group, said.

At present, the builders of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor are making every effort to promote the construction of housing construction, mechanical and electrical and ancillary projects, and sprint towards the goal of completion and opening to traffic in 2024. After the opening of traffic next year, the travel from Zhongshan to Shenzhen will be shortened from about 2 hours to less than 30 minutes. (Nanfang Daily)
