According to the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory, the 32-year-old woman was charged with committing a crime under paragraph "d" of part 2 of article 117 of the Criminal Code of Russia (torture of a minor).
"In September 2023, a mother and child came from Moscow to Sochi and settled in an apartment on Kubanskaya Street. In the period from the end of September to November 1, 2023, the woman, taking advantage of her physical superiority and the helpless state of her two-year-old son, carried out ritual rites against him. The accused tied up and immobilized the boy, forbade him to move, poured hot wax on her son's head," the statement says.
It is specified that the woman fully admitted her guilt, and also told all the details during the interrogation. At the moment, she is already under arrest, and the child is with his father in Moscow. The accused was assigned a psychological and psychiatric examination.
Earlier, a man was detained in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug for torturing two children.
