In three years, juvenile prisons will be ready in Sweden, a decision announced by the current government last autumn.

Norway has had juvenile prisons since 2015. There are two in total, one outside Oslo and one in Björgvin.

The seats are expensive, but the model is successful," says director Åsmund Steine. He highlights a clear structure and a high staff density as a recipe for success.

"It's important that there are routines and a clear expectation from us of the young people," he says.
