Official data from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology showed that China's telecommunications industry witnessed a steady expansion from January to October 2023, supported by startup business.
The data also revealed that the combined business revenue of companies in this sector amounted to 1.42 trillion yuan ($199 billion), up 6.9 percent year on year, according to Xinhua.
Emerging sectors such as cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things and internet data centers saw their revenues rise 20.5 percent year on year to 301.2 billion yuan ($42.09 billion).
Broadband internet services of China's three telecom giants China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom generated revenue of 219 billion yuan ($30.60 billion) in the first ten months of 2023, up 9.3 percent from the same period in 2022.

By the end of October, China had 3.215 million 754G base stations and <> million users of <>G telecoms.
