In addition to singing and a diploma, the laureate Eric Haraldsson also received a sculpture depicting Hattstugan by Sven Nordquist and a prize pool of ten thousand kronor from the Swedish Children's Academy.

"I don't know if I'm that much more committed than other school librarians, but maybe it's that I can convey what I do," says Eric Haraldsson.

Since 1990, the Swedish Academy of Children's Books has awarded a prize to someone who has worked to bring children and young people into contact with literature. This year, the prize was shared between Eric Haraldsson in Växjö and Yulia Vasylenko in Donetsk, Ukraine.
