The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has revealed that more than 6.3 million Sudanese have fled their homes as a result of fighting between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) since mid-April.

"Ongoing clashes severely affect civilians, with reports of widespread human rights violations, forced displacement and killings," UN said.

"The Sudan Displacement Tracking Matrix reports that 4,955,538 people have been internally displaced in 5,312 locations in all 18 states of the country," the organization said.

"Since the outbreak of the crisis, one million and 373 thousand and 223 people have fled to neighboring countries, including Chad (39.5%), South Sudan (27.1%) and Egypt (25%)," the UN said.

Since mid-April 2023, the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces have been fighting a war that has left more than 9,<> dead, according to the United Nations, without several regional and international initiatives succeeding in establishing a ceasefire since that time.
