"We think it's very important that residents in the emergency planning zone, when they receive a notification, pick out their package and do it quite quickly," says Peter Norlander, head of unit at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, MSB.

Suspicious of parcel notices

Postcards are used to inform people living in the vicinity of a nuclear power plant that they will receive a recipient. Within a week, they will then receive a notification that the package is available for collection at a service point, but so far, thousands of packages have been returned.

"One reason that we have picked up is that people do not consider themselves to have ordered a parcel and that they are a little puzzled as to why they have received a parcel notice," says Peter Norlander.
