On Friday, the Israeli occupation forces bombed a school in Gaza City and displaced people on Salah al-Din Road, resulting in the death of dozens, bringing the number of martyrs to more than 11,<>, according to the latest toll published by the Ministry of Health.

On the 35th day of the war, the Israeli army carried out rocket and artillery shelling on al-Buraq school, which houses displaced people, located on Lababidi Street in the Nasr neighborhood of Gaza City.

The director of Shifa Hospital, Mohamed Abu Salmiya, was quoted by AFP as saying that 50 martyrs were pulled from inside the school after the shelling this morning.

For his part, the director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex confirmed to Al Jazeera the arrival of 25 martyrs to the hospital after the bombing of the school.

Videos showed members of the Palestinian Civil Defence retrieving the bodies of the victims at the heavily damaged school.

Gaza's government information office said Israeli tanks were stationed 200 meters from al-Buraq school in al-Nasr neighbourhood, where they surrounded al-Nasr and al-Rantisi hospitals for children and cancer.

Israeli tanks had penetrated towards the Al-Nasr neighborhood in northwest of Gaza City, and the Palestinian resistance is engaged in clashes with the incursive forces.

In this context, the Palestinian Red Crescent said that the snipers of the occupation army targeted Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza, killing one person and wounding 20 others.

Thirteen Palestinians were killed earlier today after the occupation targeted the outpatient clinics of Shifa Hospital in Gaza, which shelters thousands of displaced people.

Targeting IDPs

Al-Jazeera correspondent reported that there were martyrs and injuries in the Israeli shelling that targeted a group of displaced people on Salah Al-Din Street near Wadi Gaza.

The correspondent said that Israeli planes targeted the displaced while they were on their way to the south of the Gaza Strip, after the occupation forced them to flee their areas in the northern Gaza Strip.

The government information office in Gaza confirmed that the shelling caused 3 martyrs, and video footage showed a destroyed car on Salah al-Din Street, and the covered body of one of the martyrs.

The Israeli occupation forces repeatedly targeted displaced people from the northern Gaza Strip while they were walking on Salah al-Din Road or Al-Rashid Coastal Street in western Gaza, and constantly shelled the southern areas of the Gaza Strip despite claiming that they were "safe".


New toll

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced today that the toll of a month of continuous Israeli bombardment reached 11,78 martyrs, including 4506,3027 children, 678,27 women and 500 elderly, in addition to about <>,<> injured.

Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said they had received 2700,1500 reports of missing persons, including <>,<> children still under the rubble.

Ashraf added that the occupation committed in the past hours 12 large massacres that left 260 martyrs, pointing to a total of 1130,<> massacres since the beginning of the war.

Israel targeted 135 health institutions and put 21 hospitals and 47 primary care centres out of service, he said, adding that its violations against the health system led to the death of 198 health staff and the destruction of 53 ambulances.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Gaza stressed that the occupation forces are besieging Al-Rantisi and Al-Nasr hospitals for children and exposing the lives of thousands of patients, medical staff and displaced persons to certain death due to hunger, thirst and direct shelling, noting that they targeted Al-Shifa Hospital 5 times.

Ashraf said Gaza's hospitals have critical hours to go out of service as a result of fuel not entering.

Amount of explosives

The government media office in Gaza said that the occupation army has dropped about 32,13 tons of explosives and more than <>,<> bombs on the Gaza Strip so far.

He said the dropping of explosives was 87 tonnes per square kilometre in the besieged enclave, which covers an area of 365 square kilometers, with a population of about 2.2 million.

The Israeli shelling resulted in the demolition of 40,50 housing units that were completely demolished, the media office said, stressing that more than <>% of the housing units were damaged by the unprecedented shelling on various areas of the Gaza Strip.

The same source pointed out that the initial value of damage to residential buildings and towers is billions of dollars, while the value of infrastructure damage is one billion dollars.
