A total of 60 cooperation projects were reached at this year's conference, covering all-round cooperation in scientific and technological innovation, talent training, sharing of rare blood group banks, and treatment of rare diseases, so as to promote close cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in medical and health resources, in-depth integration and development of the health industry, and training and exchange of medical and health talents.

Among them, the "Laboratory for Large-scale Respiratory Disease Epidemiology Prediction and Early Warning and Medical Big Data Artificial Intelligence Application" relies on the two core platforms of Macau University of Science and Technology and the State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Diseases, and is committed to building epidemic prediction and early warning capacity building and technology application and promotion.

At the main forum, Zhong Nanshan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a keynote speech on improving the innovation capability and talent quality of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. "The competition in today's world is, in the final analysis, a competition in education and talent, so we should pay more attention to the independent cultivation of talents, as well as the cultivation of scientific spirit, innovation ability, and critical thinking." Zhong Nanshan said that China's scientific quality education should be based on the combination of "innovation", "sense of mission" and "humanities", of which innovation should be the core.

The Secretary for Health of the HKSAR Government, Mr Lo Chung-mau, said that the strengthening of cross-boundary co-operation in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) mainly includes the GBA Pilot Scheme on Elderly Health Care Vouchers, the optimisation of healthcare services in the GBA, the cross-boundary ambulance through train, the establishment of a mutual assistance mechanism for routine organ transplantation, and support for the internationalisation of national hospital accreditation standards. "In terms of medical care, we must achieve the exchange of talents, medicines and equipment, mutual recognition of medical reports, cross-border medical benefits, medical insurance can be settled in different places, and hospital quality certification standards can be homogeneous." In this way, he said, the medical and health care in the Greater Bay Area can eventually achieve homogeneity and integration.

This year's conference released the "Top 10 Cases of Shaping a Healthy Bay Area", including the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Medical Talent Exchange Program" and "Policy Innovation for the Use of Hong Kong and Macao Medicines and Devices in the Mainland of the Bay Area", etc., to showcase the achievements of exploration and innovation in the Healthy Bay Area since the first "Cooperation Conference".
