The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said that the Israeli occupation, under American cover, openly rejects the ceasefire, and called on Arab and Islamic countries to pressure Washington to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and open the crossings.

The movement's leader, Osama Hamdan, said during a conference in the Lebanese capital Beirut on Friday that there are efforts and contacts with Qatar and Egypt aimed at reaching a ceasefire for humanitarian reasons, but the US-backed occupation has obstructed these efforts so far.

He added that the movement calls on the participants in the Arab summit to take decisive decisions that go beyond the stage of condemnation, and rejects any external interference in Palestinian affairs, in addition to activating forms of boycott of the "Nazi terrorist entity".

He stressed that Arab and Islamic countries have cards and tools that enable them to confront US pressure.

Earlier on Friday, the media adviser to the head of Hamas' political bureau denied that a truce agreement had been reached with the occupation so far. John Kirby, the strategic communications coordinator at the US National Security Council, said Israel had agreed to a 4-hour humanitarian trucle a day from Thursday.

Pressure on Washington

Hamas leader Bassem Naim called on Arab and Muslim countries to pressure Washington to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and open the crossings.

Naim blamed the US administration for the martyrdom of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza as a result of legitimizing the crimes of genocide against the Palestinian people and supplying the occupation forces with weapons and bombs.

He added that thousands of Palestinian people in Gaza are still under the rubble, more than half of them children, while the world has unfortunately not left the box of condemnation and denunciation and has not acted to stop the massacre of children and unarmed civilians.

He stressed that thousands of Palestinian children are at risk of certain death due to the outage of hospitals, pointing out that the Israeli occupation forces targeted more than 135 health centers and public and private hospitals during their war on Gaza.

Naim accused the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) of abdicating its responsibilities in the northern Gaza Strip in response to the demands of the occupation to displace its residents.

The Hamas leader pointed out that the occupation has so far committed more than 1130,<> massacres against the displaced, the latest of which was on the Salah al-Din road, stressing that thousands of Palestinian people in Gaza are still under the rubble, more than half of them children.

He stressed that the Palestinian people will impose on the world the recognition of their rights, constants and their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
