In anticipation of an outbreak of a new strain of influenza overseas, a drill was held to share information between the national government and prefectural governments online, and the relevant ministers and governors confirmed the initial response procedures to prevent the spread of infection.

The training was conducted online by connecting the Cabinet Agency for Infectious Disease Crisis Management, which was established as a control tower to centrally control infectious disease control, and each prefecture and related organizations.

This was the first time that the drills had been conducted nationwide, and based on the assumption that a new type of influenza had occurred overseas, Minister Shindo conveyed that Prime Minister Kishida had instructed him to thoroughly implement border measures and inspect materials necessary for infection control.

The participating governors confirmed the initial response procedures, such as stockpiling masks and protective clothing, as well as explaining the status of securing hospital beds and preparing for testing.

After the training, Minister Shindo said, "We were able to confirm the importance of promptly collecting and sharing information and building a system, and the Government will continue to conduct constant inspections and improvements."
