In total, over 100 schools competed throughout the country, five were nominated and in the end, Järvaskolan in Kista northwest of Stockholm won.

A jury consisting of five people in Mentor Sweden, both older and younger, considered that Järvaskolan had succeeded in getting its students to promote knowledge. With the courage to test their limits and a belief that dreams can come true.

Collaboration with Järvaskolan

"We are proud that a school in a resource-poor area has been awarded a prize that is national. It means a lot," says Manel Rodrick, development manager at Järvaskolan.

The School of the Year award was presented by H.M. Queen Silvia during a gala evening at the Concert Hall in Stockholm.
