During the National Traffic Week, the police focus on controlling commercial traffic throughout the country in order to increase traffic safety. Among other things, it is inspected whether the vehicles are in approved condition, that they are not overloaded and that the load is properly secured.

"Sometimes we also discover other crime in connection with our checks. These include wanted persons as well as weapons, ammunition or narcotics," says Erling Andersson, police commissioner at the National Operations Department.

The police also check driving licences, driving and rest times, sobriety and speed.
