Also last week, a 46-year-old citizen of the Russian Federation, living in Yalta, was detained in Crimea, who coordinated an attempt on the life of Russian public and political figure Oleg Tsarev, which took place on the night of October 27. A criminal case was initiated under the article "Encroachment on the life of a state or public figure".

The offender was identified thanks to the results of the investigation, confirmed by the testimony of witnesses and video surveillance. On the instructions of the SBU, he organized surveillance of Tsarev and equipped a cache of weapons in Yalta. The man "confessed about his cooperation with the SBU and the illegal actions committed."

"In the course of urgent investigative actions and operational-search measures, irrefutable evidence of the involvement of the Ukrainian special services in the organization of this crime was obtained, indicating that they used methods comparable to the activities of international terrorist structures," the FSB said.

The department also noted that the condition of the politician is assessed as satisfactory, there is no threat to life. The necessary security measures have been taken in relation to him and the members of the politician's family.
