Peskov noted that, as far as he understands, Kuzmichev has Russian citizenship.

According to him, the Russian side should receive information about the detention of a Russian citizen through its diplomatic mission.

"After receiving the information, as well as if there is a desire of the detainee, of course, we will help protect his rights as a citizen of Russia," the Kremlin spokesman said.

Earlier, the newspaper Le Monde, citing sources, wrote that the former co-owner, co-founder of Alfa Group Alexei Kuzmichev was detained in France in a criminal case of money laundering.
