In a collision between a timber truck and a car on the E45 between Sunne and Fagerås, one person is said to have been seriously injured.

Three cars and a small truck collided on road 63, south of Molkom. A total of seven people were involved. An ambulance was loaded and taken to hospital, the condition of the injuries is unknown.

A single-vehicle accident occurred on road 616 at Årjäng where a car with five people in it drove into a ditch. One person had to be taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

These are just a few examples of traffic incidents that took place on Monday. There have also been several reports of fallen trees that have stopped traffic and vehicles that have driven off the roads.

Police: "Very much"

At 20:40 p.m., Lars Hedelin, spokesperson for the Bergslagen police region, said that they had so far received reports of 36 traffic accidents, five of which resulted in injuries.

"That's a lot to be in a day," he says.

He sees that the heavy snowfall is a contributing factor, but also that road users still drive with summer tires.

Obligated to adapt

As a driver, you are always obliged to adapt to the prevailing road conditions.

"It's wrong to say that it's the snow's fault that the accidents have happened. It's allowed to have summer tyres now, but it's very, very inappropriate," says Lars Hedelin and continues:

"It can result in you being suspected of reckless driving if you are involved in an accident.

Blackout

During the day, Ellevio has also informed about power outages in different parts of the county: Arvika, Årjäng, Kil, Grums, and Karlstad.
