On April 17, just before seven o'clock in the evening, a person alerted SOS about a gunshot wounded man Östpå stan in Umeå.

"He's bleeding like hell, you have to send an ambulance quickly," the person told SOS Alarm.

The 25-year-old man was shot three times – in the stomach, right collarbone and left hand.

"Can someone press me on my stomach with the towel?" the man can be heard saying in the emergency call.

Surgeon: "I've been extremely lucky"

The victim is taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of Umeå. The man survives and the surgeon states in interrogation that he has been terribly lucky.

"If the trajectory had been a few millimetres in another direction, it would have been directly fatal. The patient has been extremely lucky, says the surgeon in interrogation.

Shot while lying down

In police interviews, the victim said that he was going to meet up with the perpetrator to buy drugs. But suddenly, the other person takes out a gun and shoots instead.

"The first shot was in the stomach, I collapse and then he shoots me two or three more times. Bang, bang. And then he quickly left, says the man in interrogation.

The shooting is described as a gang conflict in Umeå, where there is a fight over the drug trade. Eight people are suspected in the case of, among other things, attempted murder, serious drug offences and particularly serious weapons offences.

The shooter, a 20-year-old man, has admitted firing the shots, but denies responsibility for attempted murder.
