Five departments remain on orange alert for flooding or waves-submersion, Sunday at midday, with sometimes stormy rain on a diagonal of Nouvelle Aquitaine-Grand Est and strong winds that could lead to strong waves on the Atlantic coast. The orange alert "rain-floods" has been lifted for the four departments of Poitou-Charentes (Deux-Sèvres, Vienne, Charente-Maritime and Charente), according to the latest bulletin of Météo-France.

Depression Céline

The weather remains disturbed in connection with the depression Céline located on the British Isles, says Météo France. The associated strong southwesterly winds generate and maintain strong waves along the entire Atlantic coast and the entrance to the English Channel in a context of high tides requiring particular vigilance. A weakening rain front stretches from the Bay of Biscay to the Grand-Est.

On the other hand, an episode of rain is developing over the Southeast. Intermittent precipitation will affect the PACA region at times, and will become marked in the evening over the Ardèche and the Cévennes relief. However, they do not concern the plains of Languedoc-Roussillon. The rest of Occitania, the Northern Alps and the Jura, although sometimes cloudy, stay away from the rains.

The southerly wind will blow strongly in the evening in the axis of the Rhône and Saône valleys with gusts of 60 to 80 km/h and sometimes up to 90 km/h in the Lyon region. The southwesterly wind is also strong in the north and northwest with 60 km/h in the interior and 70 to 80 km/h on the coasts. Maximum temperatures typically reach 15 to 17 degrees in the northern half, with locally 18 to 20 degrees in the east. In the south of the country, 15 to 22 degrees are expected, locally 24 to 25 degrees in Occitanie or Corsica.
