According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kamchatka Territory, the accident occurred on the 38th km of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky - Milkovo highway due to the departure of an Infiniti car into the oncoming lane.

"A 34-year-old citizen, driving an Infiniti FX35, in violation of the requirements of horizontal road marking 1.1 of the Traffic Regulations of the Russian Federation, drove into the lane intended for oncoming traffic, where he collided with a Mitsubishi Pajero car," the statement says.

According to the agency, after the collision, vehicles caught fire. As a result of the accident, both drivers and three passengers were killed: women aged 30 and 37, as well as a 31-year-old man.
