Shenyang, October 10 (Reporter Han Hong) The academic exchange meeting on the theme of "Protection and Utilization of Zhang Xueliang's Former Residence Building" was recently held in the Shenyang Museum. More than ten experts and scholars from Shenyang Jianzhu University, Tianjin University School of Architecture, Shenyang Planning and Design Institute, Puppet Manchu Palace Museum, Shenyang Archives and other experts and scholars in the field of architecture inside and outside the province, as well as literature and history enthusiasts attended the event.

This event is the first academic exchange meeting held from the perspective of historical architecture and cultural heritage in the more than 2023 years since the establishment of Zhang Xueliang's Former Residence Exhibition Hall, and it is also a practice to expand the academic research of Zhang Xueliang's Former Residence Exhibition Hall to a wider field. The academic exchange meeting was co-hosted by the Shenyang Federation of Social Sciences and Zhang Xueliang's Former Residence Exhibition Hall, and was also one of the planned projects funded by the Shenyang Federation of Social Sciences in <>.

At the opening ceremony, Li Shengneng, director of Shenyang Cultural Museum Center and director of Zhang Xueliang's Former Residence Exhibition Hall, reviewed the protection work and utilization status of Zhang Xueliang's Former Residence Exhibition Hall on this precious historical and cultural heritage, and looked forward to the deepening of exchanges between experts and scholars, effectively balancing the relationship between inheritance, protection and utilization development, and improving the level of protection and utilization of Zhang Xueliang's former residence buildings.

Liang Rui, head of the Science Popularization Department of Shenyang Federation of Social Sciences and a third-level researcher, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. He pointed out that Zhang Xueliang's Former Residence Exhibition Hall has done a lot of work in exhibitions, academic research, public welfare lectures, mobile museums, science popularization and social science knowledge publicity, etc., and has played an important role in disseminating history and culture, popularizing social science knowledge, and benefiting the people through culture, which has produced a very good social impact, fully reflects the role and function of the science popularization base, and plays a leading and exemplary role for the Shenyang science popularization base.

In order to enrich the connotation of the exchange meeting and enhance the participation of participants, the organizer arranged two sessions: thematic academic report and thematic academic exchange.

In the keynote report, Chen Bochao, professor and doctoral supervisor of Shenyang Jianzhu University, in the keynote report entitled "The History of Modern Architecture of a Former Residence of Zhang Xueliang", compared and analyzed the construction process, construction technology and aesthetic ideas of Zhang Xueliang's former residence with the development process of modern architecture in Shenyang, and demonstrated that the former residence building of Zhang Xueliang is a condensation and illustration of the development history of modern architecture in Shenyang.

Yang Jing, associate professor, doctoral supervisor and deputy director of the Institute of Architectural History and Theory, School of Architecture, Tianjin University, took the "Western-style" architecture in the late Qing Dynasty as an example, compared the design similarities and differences between Chinese and Western combined architecture and Western neoclassical architecture in Beijing during the historical period from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, and further excavated and explained the architectural style of Zhang Xueliang's former residence such as Daqinglou. The reports made by the two experts stimulated the ideological resonance of the participating scholars.

In the academic exchange meeting, the participating experts and scholars discussed the construction process, construction art, conservation status quo and how to rationally use it in the future to continue the vitality of traditional buildings.

This activity is of great significance to further enrich and develop the research on the protection and utilization of old residential buildings. In the research and clarification of the construction and use of old residential buildings, construction technology, aesthetic ideas and value connotations, etc., the academic work in the museum will move to a new height, and at the same time, it will also open up a new path for the scientific protection and rational utilization of old residential buildings, which is conducive to giving full play to the important role of Zhang Xueliang's former residence complex in the cultural construction of Liaoning and Shenyang regions.
