That was the first public image that Spaniards had of Felipe VI and Doña Letizia when their engagement was announced on November 1, 2003. The image had been produced a week earlier, on October 24.

It's been two decades since that meeting and King Felipe and Queen Letizia paid homage to that image last Friday. As in all editions of the Princess of Asturias Awards, the King and Queen end the awards ceremony by greeting the television sets. At the time of the TVE show, they talked about the image of two decades ago and King Felipe and Queen Letizia repeated it, with the Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofia as exceptional witnesses.
