Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian hinted at the possibility of widening the fronts of the war in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings, and pointed out that this possibility is increasing by the hour, while stressing that Tehran will not remain a spectator of the current situation.

The Iranian minister said in an exclusive interview with Al-Jazeera that the expansion of the war fronts is possible "if efforts to stop the aggression on Gaza do not succeed," and stressed that Iran, the region and its actors "will not remain spectators" in the face of this situation.

"If America and Israel do not stop this policy, the scope of the war cannot be stopped," Abdollahian said, adding, "If the war expands, heavy losses will also be inflicted on America."

However, the Iranian minister expressed hope that political efforts would prevent the war from spreading, but added: "Otherwise no one knows what will happen next hour."

"We have told the Zionist entity through its supporters that if its crimes in Gaza do not stop, tomorrow will be late," he said.

The continued aggression and the absence of a political solution "add fuel to the fire and things may get out of control", he said.

Land incursion

Regarding the possible ground incursion of the Israeli army into the Gaza Strip, the Iranian foreign minister said, "If the Zionist entity decides to enter Gaza, the leaders of the resistance will turn it into a cemetery for the occupation soldiers."

"I say to the Zionists, if you want war, fight the military, not women and children," he said, referring to the large number of children and women victims in the Gaza Strip.

He pointed out that the issue of prisoners in Gaza is a "red line" for the Palestinian resistance, pointing out that the latter is studying the issue of civilian prisoners.

Hezbollah

Regarding developments on the northern front, Abdollahian explained that Lebanese Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah told him during the meeting in Beirut that all scenarios were on the table.

"Hizbullah has defined all stages of the red lines and will take appropriate measures at each stage," he said.

The Iranian minister said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "has hopes and dreams and now he and his government have fallen silent," while Washington stepped forward "to preserve the statue and puppet of Israel," referring to the United States sending two aircraft carriers, advanced weapons and ammunition to the eastern Mediterranean.

It is noteworthy that the Iranian foreign minister began a tour of the region after the operation "Al-Aqsa Flood" launched by the Qassam Brigades on the seventh of October, which resulted in the death of hundreds of Israeli soldiers, officers and settlers, before Israel launched a devastating war on the besieged strip.

Abdollahian's tour included visits to Baghdad, Damascus, Beirut and Doha, where he met with the emir of Qatar, the prime minister and the foreign minister, as well as the head of Hamas' political bureau.
