Maj. Gen. Fayez al-Duwairi, a military and strategic expert, said that neither Israel nor anyone else has certain information about the number of rockets in the possession of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

In statements to Al Jazeera, Al-Duwairi gave an example of the degree of difference in the estimate of the Qassam Brigades' rocket stockpile, as reported by American newspapers in the past, as the New York Times published after 2021 that Hamas has between 20,30 and 8,10 rockets, while the Washington Post estimated in the same time period the number between <>,<> to <>,<>.

The difference in the estimate indicates that the Qassam Brigades' rocket stockpiles are unknown, al-Duwairi said.

Commenting on an Israeli security report that the Hamas-affiliated resistance is firing far fewer rockets than it was in the past, the military expert responded by saying that rockets were used extensively at the beginning of the battle of "Al-Aqsa Flood" because the resistance adopted what he called an approach of strategic deception that requires excessive use of rockets.

He said that at the beginning of the battle of "Al-Aqsa Flood", the Qassam Brigades carried out a comprehensive disinformation operation against Israel, where it was able to paralyze airports and Iron Dome, and disrupted the work of electronic surveillance supporters.

However, the military logic requires reducing the rate of use of missiles, so the resistance reduced the use of missiles, in addition to that there was a difference in performance in the selection of targets, so the missiles were employed to achieve a greater goal, and the Northern Military Region Command was targeted today, and a military base in the Negev desert.

He concluded that the potential of the Palestinian resistance is being used to achieve the ends.

The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades announced on the seventh day of the "Al-Aqsa Flood" battle that it had targeted the occupied city of Safed with the "Ayyash 250" rocket, which Hamas introduced into service in 2021 in Operation "Sword of Jerusalem".
