On a visit to a Jewish school in the Paris suburbs on Wednesday, Education Minister Gabriel Attal warned that the government "will not let anything pass" about attacks or anti-Semitic remarks in schools. In a high school in the Hauts-de-Seine region, a student was attacked and subjected to a dozen anti-Semitic insults.

"We will not let anything pass," Education Minister Gabriel Attal warned Wednesday during a visit to a Jewish school in the Paris suburbs, referring to anti-Semitic attacks, acts or words in schools. "The priority today, for the National Education, is to ensure security and serenity in our schools," said Gabriel Attal, alongside Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, in front of the Ozar Atorah private Jewish school in Sarcelles in the Val-d'Oise region.

Anti-Semitic insults from his comrades

Unfortunately, one case has already been reported. A student was confronted as he came out of the bathroom. He was subjected to a dozen anti-Semitic insults from his classmates and had his shirt ripped off. "I had the opportunity, last night, to ask that the public prosecutor be seized of an attack of which this student was victim in Ile-de-France. The matter will always be referred to the public prosecutor. Leave our children alone," Gabriel Attal told the media.

The Minister of Education also said that he would mobilize the 546 staff of the mobile security teams of the rectorates. These teams are made up of educational assistants, teachers, and security guards with mediation skills. They travel to schools in the event of a crisis or serious events in order to secure staff and students and, above all, to resolve situations.
