This statement was made by the country's Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov in an interview with the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.

According to RIA Novosti, the company previously stated that gas supplies through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan will begin in the fourth quarter of 2023.

"As part of the official visit of our president to Russia, we have started negotiations with Gazprom on medium- and long-term contracts for gas supplies," the minister added.

Earlier, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that he was ready to further increase the volume of gas transportation from Russia.
