For the first time since 2019, SAS is making a profit. However, the profit of SEK 457 million from May to July can be compared with the loss of SEK two billion that the company made during the same period last year.

But both the weakening krona and the rising oil price continue to challenge the airline, which needs to raise almost SEK 10 billion in new money.

SAS, whose largest owners are the Swedish and Danish governments, filed for bankruptcy protection in the US this summer.

"Potential investors may make bids to acquire shares in a reconstructed SAS in a leading role or together with other investors," the company wrote in a press release at the time.

But who will provide the funding is still unclear.
