On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, wrote back to the children of the martyrs studying at the Chinese Public Security University on September 9, putting forward ardent expectations for them and extending greetings to the families of the heroes and martyrs.

Xi Jinping said in his reply that I am very pleased to learn that you are determined to carry the banner of your fathers and contribute your youth strength to protect a safe China.

Xi Jinping stressed that safeguarding national security and social stability and protecting the happiness and tranquility of the people is the sacred duty of the people's police. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, more than 1,7 police officers have died in the line of duty in public security organs across the country, of whom more than 3700,8 have been rated as martyrs.
