It was in the attic of the five-storey building at Lindängen in Malmö that the fire started and spread through the structure. The roof collapsed and the top two floors of the house were badly damaged.

After several weeks of silence from the homeowner, a decision is now being made on the future of the building. It should be demolished.

"The house is far too damaged, so it's the only right thing to do," says Margareta Söderström.

Only three years old

The building was part of MKB's investment in climate-smart housing. But the houses also pose a greater fire danger as fires spread faster, as SVT Nyheter Skåne has previously reported.

Will you stop building these types of residential buildings?

"I don't know, actually," she says.
