"On September 28, I have a driving test for the bus driver training. If I don't pass it, I'll have to repeat the entire education somewhere else," says student Anabade Anabade in Uppsala.

Yrkesakademin's operations throughout Sweden are affected by the decision to close down, and the background is a company reconstruction due to poor profitability.

"Above all, it is about fewer participants and increased costs for, among other things, fuel," says Daniel Strömblad, head of the Vocational Academy in Uppsala.

Bus drivers and bakers

In total, thousands of students are affected throughout Sweden, and in Uppsala the company has 100 students – including training for bus drivers and truck drivers, as well as in restaurants and bakeries, construction and civil engineering.

Around 400 employees in Yrkesakademin in the country are also affected.
