Activists on social media praised the withdrawal of Kuwaiti Health Minister Ahmed Al-Awadi the moment Israeli Health Minister Moshe Erbil began to address the conference of world health ministers on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Local media and activists widely circulated a video clip showing the moment al-Awadi withdrew from the meeting, accompanied by phrases talking about Kuwait's position in support of the Palestinian cause.

Tweeters on the "X" website (formerly Twitter) saw the Kuwaiti minister's withdrawal from the ministerial meeting as a confirmation of Kuwait's position in support of the Palestinian cause and an embodiment of the position of Kuwaiti public opinion, expressing their thanks to Kuwait for recording these positions, which they considered "a message to those rushing towards normalization."

Greetings to His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. #أحمد_العوضي, for this firm position and your elevation from being present in front of the speech of the Minister of Health of the Zionist entity usurping Palestine at the World Health Organization Conference

The Kuwait Pharmacy Association described – in a post on the X website – the position of Minister Ahmed Al-Awadi as a supervisor, and said that it is consistent with the position of Kuwait's leadership and people.

The director of the "Balad Al-Khair" Association (a Kuwaiti charity) Othman Al-Thuwaini, wrote through his account on the "X" platform, "We are moving away from normalization and do not approach, praise be to God, and goodness is all the best in staying away from the usurping Zionist entity."

Fahd Al-Ajmi commented on his page on the "X" platform, saying, "An honorable position on the Kuwaiti Minister of Health, no matter how the principles change and the ideas change, believing that normalization is treason and no peace with the occupying entity."

On the other hand, some tweeters believed that the withdrawal of the Kuwaiti Minister of Health from the meeting of health ministers in New York does not benefit the Palestinian cause.
