In Balashikha near Moscow, search work has been resumed after the repeated collapse of the structures of a residential apartment building, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia reported.

200 people were involved in the work, 60 units of equipment were involved, including the Struna mobile diagnostic complex. Deputy heads of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia Ilya Denisov and Alexei Serko are present at the scene of the emergency.

On the morning of September 20, a gas explosion occurred on the fourth floor of a residential building on Oktyabrskaya Street. As a result, the third, fourth and fifth floors collapsed. During the dismantling of the rubble, there was a repeated collapse of buildings.

In total, at the time of publication, it is known about five dead, including two employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

"At the moment, as a result of the incident in Balashikha, five people were killed, another 13 were injured. Of these, seven are hospitalized, medical care is provided to them in full. The remaining six were examined by doctors on the spot and refused hospitalization, "said a representative of the regional Ministry of Health in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, during the rescue operations, as a result of the repeated collapse of damaged structures, the rescuer of the Noginsk Rescue Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia Magomed Nalgiev and the employee of the 201st PSC of the Moscow Regional Rescue Service Oleg Kalmykov were killed.

"The work of a rescuer is a risk every second. Especially when there is a threat of re-collapse. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are real heroes. Unfortunately, two employees were killed and four injured during rescue operations. Our guys from the Moscow region are from Balashikha, Reutov, Noginsk. Tragedy. The vice-governor of the Moscow region, Yevgeny Khromushin, said that the authorities would pay 1 million rubles to the families of those killed in the gas explosion in a house in Balashikha.

"The families of the victims will be paid a monetary allowance of 1 million rubles," TASS quoted Khromushin as saying.

170 people were evacuated from the building affected by the explosion. The authorities of the Moscow region have organized three temporary accommodation centers.

An elderly woman was also rescued, who was trapped in one of the apartments of a multi-storey building on the sixth floor, she was evacuated with the help of a ladder and handed over to doctors.

We add that the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, spoke with the residents of the victim and neighboring houses. He stressed that the regional authorities will work with everyone in a targeted manner.

Chairman of the Moscow Regional Duma Igor Bryntsalov, in turn, said that federal payments are provided in case of partial or complete loss of property.

"Of course, we will not leave those who lost their relatives today. You are not alone, we will help you with everything you need," he promised.

Investigation

A criminal case was opened on the fact of the incident on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements (Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). It is engaged in the first department for the investigation of especially important cases of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Moscow Region.

"Currently, investigators are conducting searches in the offices of the management and gas companies, all necessary documentation is being seized. Their employees are being interrogated. Emergency workers continue to dismantle the rubble," the press service of the regional IC reported.

According to Olga Vradiy, senior assistant to the head of the regional central board of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the investigation is considering a number of versions, including a malfunction of gas equipment, as well as possible unfair use of gas appliances.
