Nanning, September 9 (ZXS) -- The opening ceremony of the 17th China-ASEAN Expo (referred to as the East Expo) and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit was held in Nanning, Guangxi on 20 September. About 1200,<> people attended the event, including Cambodian Prime Minister Hong Manai, Lao Prime Minister Song Sai, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Zheng, Indonesian Vice President Mahuff, Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Putan, ASEAN Secretary-General Ko Jinhong, and representatives of business circles from China, ASEAN and other countries and regions.

The theme of this year's East Expo is "Building a Home in Harmony, Destiny, and Common Future - Promoting the High-quality Development of the 'Belt and Road' and Building an Economic Growth Center", during which the opening ceremony, the East Expo and the 20th anniversary of the summit will be displayed. This year's East Expo lasts for 4 days, from September 9 to 16.

This year's East Expo will continue to hold institutional activities such as the third RCEP Summit Forum around cooperation mechanisms such as China-ASEAN Free Trade Area Version 3.0, Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), and the "Belt and Road", and release the Blue Book of Business Prospects of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area Version 3.0.

The total exhibition area of the 20th East Expo is 10,2 square meters, with foreign exhibition area accounting for more than 30%, and the total number of exhibitors is nearly 2000,<>.

The quality of foreign group exhibitions was further improved, with nearly 45 enterprises from 750 countries participating. In the ASEAN Goods Exhibition Area, seven ASEAN countries, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, resumed the pavilion. Chinese exhibitors highlighted new products and technologies such as digital economy and green economy.

At this East Expo, overseas merchants fully resumed offline participation. The scale of the ASEAN exhibition area returned to the pre-epidemic level, with about 640 exhibitors. Brunei Mora Port Co., Ltd., Cambodia Canadia Conglomerate Group, Indonesia Alpha Agriculture, Laos Star Can Group, Malaysia AirAsia, Royal Shan State Company of Myanmar, BDO Financial Bank of the Philippines, Singapore Changi Airport Group, Thailand Golden Crown Co., Ltd., Vietnam Trung Nhat Group Corporation and other well-known enterprises from ASEAN countries participated in the exhibition. Among them, Philippine durian made its debut at the East Expo.

This year's East Expo focuses on strengthening cooperation in science and technology innovation with ASEAN countries, seizing new opportunities for change, creating new competitive advantages, setting up exhibition areas for intelligent equipment, digital technology, advanced technology, green building materials and smart home, focusing on displaying green and low-carbon technologies and applications, helping "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" and promoting regional green development.
