Los Angeles, 9 Sep (ZXS) -- A policeman in Los Angeles County, California, was attacked and killed by a gunman while on duty on the afternoon of 17 September.

Comprehensive Los Angeles County Police Department report and "Los Angeles Times" and other US media on the 17th, Los Angeles County Police Department Constable Ryan Clinkunbroomer (Ryan Clinkunbroomer) was on duty in Palm Valley City on the 16th and was shot in the head in the patrol car he was driving.

At the time of the incident, the officer reportedly drove a police car to the street in front of the Palmdale City Police Department. Surveillance video showed a black car first slowing down and pausing behind the police car, then driving to the driver's seat of the police car a few seconds later, and then accelerating away. The police car stopped after moving forward a foot or two. At about 6 p.m. that day, Klinken Blumer was found unconscious with gunshot wounds in the police car. He was rushed to Lancaster City Medical Center, but died of his injuries.

Police investigated the case as a murder. Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said through social media on the 17th that the police will go all out to bring the suspect to justice, calling on the informed public to provide information to the police to assist in the investigation.

Klinken Blumer, 30, who has been a police officer in the Los Angeles County Police Department for eight years and has been on duty in Palmdale since July 8, reportedly got engaged just days before he was killed. His grandfather and father also worked for the Los Angeles County Police Department. Local police, government officials and the public expressed condolences for the officer's death, and the Los Angeles County Commissioner directed the county to lower the flag to half-mast in his honor.
