The weather on Monday will be marked by thunderstorms that will begin in the west of the country, moving away the heat records broken in France during the weekend, according to the forecast of Météo France. On the Atlantic coast, Normandy and Hauts-de-France, after the storms of the night, the sky will be chaotic in the morning. Thunderstormy showers will circulate in places, interspersed with lulls.

In the afternoon, the sky will remain heavy over the western half of the country, while thunderstorms will resume on the side of the Limousin but also the Basque Country. These storms will sometimes be strong, with a risk of small to medium hail and wind gusts between 60 and 80 km / h.

Thunderstorms will cross the Centre-Val de Loire in the evening

In the late afternoon and evening, these storms will cross the Centre-Val de Loire and then the Paris basin and reach the north of the country. A risk of isolated thunderstorms will also remain further west, from Aquitaine to Brittany and Normandy.

Over the eastern half of the country, dry, sunny weather will dominate. The sky will gradually veil from the west but will remain bright. On the perimeter of the Gulf of Lion, this veil will be doubled by maritime entries of low clouds, persistent during the day on the Aude and the Hérault. Minimum temperatures will range from 15 to 20 degrees in general. The maximums, still hot, will spread between 23 and 28 degrees over the regions bordering the Channel and the Pays de la Loire, and between 29 and 34 degrees elsewhere.
