Burkina Faso: at least 65 "terrorists" neutralized in the west, says the army
The armed forces of Burkina Faso announced that they had neutralized, from August 7 to September 1, 2023, at least 65 "terrorists" during actions in several provinces. Following this operation led by the 7th Rapid Intervention Battalion, the populations who had been evicted were able to return to their villages, according to the army. The 7th Rapid Intervention Battalion conducted a raid on several terrorist landmarks in the provinces of Kénédougou, Houet and the Cascades region, according to the army. This operation made it possible to "clean" several localities such as Ouangolodougou, Konkala, Bolibana or Diarakorosso, all located in the western part of the country.

It should also be noted that a policeman and four volunteers for the defense of the homeland fell Friday, September 1, after fighting against armed groups in the locality of Silmiougou, Centre-Nord region. The intervention units of the national police and volunteers had come as reinforcements, following the attack on the volunteer base of this locality by armed men. A dozen terrorists were neutralized, according to the army.
