Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir toured Al-Tur neighborhood in Jerusalem under security guard from the Israeli occupation forces, while Palestinians were injured in clashes with settlers in the vicinity of a settlement southeast of Nablus.

According to eyewitnesses, the Israeli minister carried out "provocative tours" in the streets of the neighborhood under tight protection, in conjunction with settlers roaming the alleys of the Old City of occupied Jerusalem, where they danced and sang "in a provocative manner."

Meanwhile, Israel's National Security Council asked the government and all relevant parties not to deal with Itamar Ben-Gvir's decision to reduce visits by families of Palestinian prisoners to once every two months instead of once a month.

The National Security Council demanded that this be postponed until after a special session chaired by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to decide on the matter.

For its part, the Higher Emergency Committee of the Palestinian Prisoners' Movement confirmed that the prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons are ready to resume their ongoing battle on the basis of national unity to confront the measures of Itamar Ben Gvir.

On the other hand, 8 Palestinians were lightly injured and at least two settlers were injured in clashes between a group of settlers and Palestinian youths in the vicinity of a settlement built on the land of Qusra village (southeast of Nablus).

According to local sources, Palestinians were injured as a result of settler attacks supported by the occupation forces, who used rubber-coated bullets, while the two settlers were injured when the youths of the village confronted the settlers and threw stones at them.

A number of Palestinians were suffocated by tear gas on Saturday after the Israeli army dispersed a demonstration near the separation fence in the eastern Gaza Strip.

According to eyewitnesses, the demonstration took place in solidarity with the city of Jerusalem and the Palestinians in the West Bank to confront the continuous violations by the Israeli occupation and settlers.

The West Bank has been witnessing escalating tension for months with the continuation of Israeli incursions into Palestinian cities and villages, without various mediation and diplomatic efforts succeeding in calming the situation on the ground.

Since the beginning of this year, some 175 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli army fire in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, exceeding the total number of Palestinians killed last year (155), the highest toll recorded since 2005.

In contrast, 36 Israelis were killed in Palestinian attacks, compared to 6 during the corresponding period in 2022.
