Coleman, by crossing the line in 9.83/100 seconds, equalled the best world performance of the year already equalled two weeks earlier in Budapest by world champion Noah Lyles.

He is ahead of his compatriot, 2022 world champion, Fred Kerley (3rd) and Jamaican Kishane Thompson (2nd).

The duel between Kerley and Marcell Jacobs, the reigning Olympic champion, once again did not take place, the Italian having been relegated to 7th position despite his best performance of the season (10.05).

Both rivals had been expected since the start of the season, but Jacobs was slowed by back pain, before both were eliminated in the semi-finals of the 100m in Budapest.

The Diamond League has made its return to China for the first time since 2019, before the Covid wave. Two meetings were planned this year, in Shanghai and Shenzhen. The first was cancelled while the second, finally in Xiamen, was postponed from early August to early September.

- Mahuchikh on his way -

Barely a week after the end of the Worlds, several world champions have still responded.

Starting with Ukraine's Yaroslava Mahuchikh, who won the high jump after winning her first international outdoor title in Hungary.

With a jump of 2.02m, she beat her personal best of the season and even equalled the best world performance of the year.

"I am very happy to have managed to beat my record of 2.01m, I did not expect it because I was a little tired," said the 21-year-old Ukrainian who did not hide wanting to "beat the world record" of 2.09m held since 1987 by Bulgarian Stefka Kostadinova.

Finally, Morocco's Soufiane El-Bakkali dominated the 3,000m steeplechase.

- Robert third in the 800m -

This Chinese meeting was less successful for other sacred athletes in Hungary. In the 800m, Canada's Marco Arop finished second, behind Kenyan world runner-up Emmanuel Wanyonyi, who clocked 1:43.20/100, the best world performance of the year.

A week after failing to qualify for the final in Budapest, Frenchman Benjamin Robert took third place in the event.

Holloway's compatriot Laulauga Tausaga finished third in the discus throw.

Finally in triple jump, the Burkinabe world champion Hugues-Fabrice Zango was beaten by the Italian Andy Diaz Hernandez.
