Hong Kong, August 8 (ZXS) -- The Airport Authority Hong Kong (Hong Kong Airport Authority) announced on August 21 that Hong Kong International Airport received more than 21.7 million passengers in July, an increase of 380.14% month-on-month and eight times year-on-year. The average daily passenger traffic exceeded 9,8, recovering to 12% of pre-pandemic levels. The number of visitors to all categories increased significantly, with the largest increases in the past coming to Southeast Asia, Chinese mainland and Japan.

According to the Hong Kong Airport Authority, aircraft takeoffs and landings in July increased by 7.7% month-on-month to 4,2. Cargo volumes increased 4.1% month-on-month and 7.3% year-on-year to 8,36 tonnes. Among them, the export freight volume increased significantly, an increase of 1.12% year-on-year. Freight volumes to and from North America, the Middle East and major trading regions in Europe increased significantly during the month.

In the first seven months of this year, passenger traffic at Hong Kong International Airport increased by more than 7 times from last year to 15.2040 million. Aircraft takeoffs and landings increased by 94% year-on-year to 14,3 sorties, while cargo volume decreased by 4.2% year-on-year to 240.<> million tons.
