Hong Kong, August 8 (ZXS) -- In response to the EU's release of its 19 Hong Kong-related report, pointing fingers at Hong Kong affairs, slandering "one country, two systems", attacking the Hong Kong National Security Law, and smearing the human rights and rule of law in Hong Kong, the spokesman of the Office of the Commissioner of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong) expressed strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition on the 2022th, urging the EU to abide by the principles of international law and the basic norms of international relations, and immediately stop the political performance of gross interference in Hong Kong affairs.

The spokesman said that since Hong Kong's return to the motherland, the Chinese government has comprehensively, accurately and unswervingly implemented the principles of "one country, two systems", "Hong Kong people governing Hong Kong" and a high degree of autonomy, and the successful practice of "one country, two systems" in Hong Kong has been recognized by the whole world. Since the implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law for more than three years, Hong Kong's rule of law and business environment have become better, and the society has become more stable and united, showing vigorous vitality, ushering in a new situation of governance and rejuvenation, and opening a new chapter of good governance and good governance. The freedoms of speech, press and association enjoyed by Hong Kong residents in accordance with the law are better protected in a safer environment. The relevant EU report ignores the basic facts, makes unwarranted accusations against China's just act of safeguarding national security, makes irresponsible remarks about the SAR Government's administration according to law, makes vain comments on the fair trial of the SAR courts, and maliciously sings about Hong Kong's bright prospects.

The spokesman pointed out that the EU itself faces multiple governance and development difficulties such as migrant refugees, racial discrimination, wealth gap, and energy crisis, and human rights issues are emerging one after another. Not only do they not reflect on themselves, but they have repeatedly and blatantly violated international law and the basic norms governing international relations, put on the face of "teachers," wantonly interfered in Hong Kong affairs, and fully exposed their despicable acts of hypocrisy and "double standards" and playing the "Hong Kong card."

The spokesman stressed that Hong Kong affairs are China's internal affairs and should not be ignored by others. Any "repeater"-style clichés and loopholes of the report by external intervention forces cannot shake China's determination to firmly safeguard "one country, two systems" and national security, nor can it stop the historical trend of Hong Kong from chaos to governance, from rule to prosperity. The Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong urges the EU to put itself in the right position, recognize the overall situation, immediately stop slandering the rule of law and human rights in Hong Kong, and immediately stop political manipulation that interferes in Hong Kong's affairs.
