This statement was made by the representative of the EU foreign policy service Peter Stano.

He stressed that the European Union continues to support Kiev in several areas, but the issue of security guarantees is not within the competence of the EU.

"We are not a security organization, so discussions about security guarantees are discussions for NATO and for individual countries, but not for the European Union as an organization," Santo said, RIA Novosti reports.

Earlier in Kiev, they said that consultations on security guarantees for Ukraine with the signatory countries of the declaration in Vilnius will begin in August-September.
