The cause of his death has not been revealed.

The comedian played drug dealer Fezco "Fez" O'Neill in the HBO series, which won multiple Emmy Awards.

"The only comfort we have is knowing that Angus is now reunited with his father, who was his best friend," his family said in a statement shared by Cloud's press secretary.

The actor had had to deal with the recent death of his father and was suffering from mental health issues, according to the statement.

"Angus spoke openly about his battle with mental illness and we hope his passing will remind others that they are not alone and should not fight alone in silence," his family added.

The series "Euphoria" is one of HBO's biggest hits. It chronicles the dark lives of contemporary American teenagers, for whom drug addiction and sexual violence are part of everyday life.

The soap opera had allowed Angus Cloud to get his first role. He had been spotted by a casting director while walking with friends on the streets of Brooklyn, New York.
