Two of the children whose mother allegedly tried to kill on Thursday in the Navarre town of Fitero are in the ICU of the University Hospital of Navarra "serious, but stable" and his sister on the floor, where he evolves favorably. The mother gave them some toxic substance and wounded them with a knife.

Sources of the investigation have confirmed that the mother caused them injuries that have made the youngest and the oldest, 3 and 9 years old, are in intensive care and the medium, 5 years old, less serious, hospitalized in the plant.

The children are in hospital in Pamplona, where they were taken after being initially referred to the Reina Sofía Hospital in Tudela.

Next to them remains their father, who was working outside the town when the events happened, around 12.00 on Thursday.

The mother, who tried to commit suicide, after spending a day admitted to the hospital center of the riverside capital has been transferred this Friday to the University Hospital of Navarra, where she remains in police custody.

At the moment, as they have indicated, there is no forecast of when he will receive the hospital discharge and therefore when he will go to court.

The elders asked for help

The Judicial Police of the Civil Guard continues with the investigation of the case, which has been taken over by the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 1 of Tudela.

The events happened in the house on Calle Mayor de Fitero where the family resides and who apparently had everything ready to go on vacation in the coming days to their country.

There, for reasons that have not been specified at the moment, the mother tried to kill her children, although the two eldest managed to get out and ask for help, which led the neighbors to alert the Civil Guard who, after entering the home with the two minors, found the woman with her third child.

In the town where the family has lived for several years, there have been signs of consternation and pain over what happened.

In the Plaza de San Raimundo de Fitero has taken place this noon a silent concentration of rejection and support for the family convened by the City Council that has regretted and condemned the facts that, as recognized, have caused a "deep consternation" throughout the town.

The Consistory also joins the pain of the Islamic community based in Fitero, with whose representatives they are in permanent contact and ensures that it will do everything legally in its power to protect minors.
