Almost unnoticed, this small machine moves through tall grass with a sharp landmine. Another piece of the puzzle in the field of newly developed drones, especially on the Ukrainian side – some of them come from micro-enterprises and technology tinkerers.

Yevhen Hnatok, drone developer: "If we had owned this kind of drones at the beginning of the war, we would have caught the Russians everywhere. These drones would have come out from every row of trees and destroyed entire convoys.

One of the biggest challenges to the Ukrainian counteroffensive so far has been Russian mines. If the ground drone were sent forward, the loss of soldiers could be reduced. And the drone, according to its developer, has other special advantages: if it gets under a tank, its explosion is powerful enough to put the tank out of action. In addition, it is difficult to shoot them down with a rifle, according to Hnatok.

Yevhen Hnatok, drone developer: "I saw that the Russians have them. I saw some of the models with my own eyes. And I thought: we are no worse than them. Why don't we start building them too?

According to the young engineer, he has already delivered several dozen of the remotely controlled ground vehicles to the armed forces. Hnatok is currently working on larger machines that can transport artillery shells to the front lines, for example. One problem, however, is its capacity limits: it lacks personnel for mass production – and the steady supply of important components is not always guaranteed in times of war.
