Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that his country will raise its relations with the United Arab Emirates to the level of strategic partnership, and Abu Dhabi and Ankara signed agreements worth $ 50.7 billion today during Erdogan's visit to the UAE.

The Turkish president met his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, and Erdogan said that through the mechanism of the Turkish-Emirati Strategic Council, relations between the two countries will be regularly raised to the highest level.

The UAE president said in remarks published by the official Emirates News Agency that his country discussed with Turkey "strengthening bilateral relations and pushing forward economic and development cooperation between them."

Following the meeting between Erdogan and bin Zayed, the Turkish president presented his Emirati counterpart with a gift of a Turkish-made Tog car.

Anadolu Agency reported that Turkey and the UAE signed agreements on Wednesday in 13 fields worth a total of $ 50.7 billion.

The Turkish-Emirati Business Forum was also held today in Abu Dhabi with the participation of a large number of businessmen from the two countries in various fields, mainly real estate, contracting, industry, agriculture, food, information and banking.

On Tuesday evening, President Erdogan arrived in Abu Dhabi from Doha, the last stop of his Gulf tour that began on Monday, which included Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
