"As for me, this is not the first, this is the second assassination attempt that has been prepared over the past year. The first one was probably a big shock, because it was the first time. Now this year I'm used to living like a hare in the field, you know," she said.

According to Simonyan, she treats this as follows: two deaths do not happen, one cannot be avoided.

"And it's probably better than the inevitable, but some other, painful, long," said the editor-in-chief of RT.

She also added that no one has yet proved that dying defending one's homeland, "from the bullet of some 18-year-old fool, is worse than slowly rotting for several years from some terrible incurable disease."

Simonyan also expressed regret because of the attempt of an 18-year-old boy to organize an assassination attempt on her.

Earlier it was reported that the FSB, the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs prevented the preparation of assassination attempts on RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan and journalist Ksenia Sobchak.

In April 2022, the FSB announced the detention of neo-Nazis who were planning the murder of Russian journalist Vladimir Solovyov on the instructions of Kiev.
