It is understood that the China Association for Science and Technology has participated in the primary selection of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences since 1991 and the selection of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering since 1995. The specific contents of the "Ten Prohibitions" released this time include: 1. National academic groups organize selection in strict accordance with the selection procedures, and are not allowed to carry out any activities that may affect or interfere with the selection work. 2. National academic groups are not allowed to appoint as candidates for academicians persons who have been dealt with for problems such as moral character, academic misconduct, and violations of scientific and technological ethics, as well as persons who have been dealt with due to violations of discipline and law and other issues and are still in the period of influence, or serious violations of discipline and law have occurred. 3. Candidates and candidate units are not allowed to carry out activities such as soliciting, lobbying, canvassing, assisting in elections, bribing votes, or inquiring about election information by directly or indirectly, explicitly or implicitly, or entrusting others. 4. Candidates are not allowed to visit national academic groups, experts and other relevant units and personnel in the name of reporting, consulting or soliciting opinions, etc., to carry out activities for recommendation (nomination). 5. Candidates shall ensure the authenticity of materials and shall not engage in acts such as falsification or embezzlement of others' academic achievements. 6. The materials submitted by candidates are not allowed to involve state secrets, work secrets or important and sensitive matters. 7. Experts should resolutely resist all kinds of improper behaviors such as interfering with selection, engaging in public relations, and soliciting votes, and do a good job of recommendation (nomination) work objectively and impartially without prejudice of individuals, departments, and industries. It is forbidden to accept gifts or cash gifts from candidates and their units, to contact candidates privately in violation of regulations, to conduct improper exchanges or exchange of benefits, and not to participate in activities that may affect the fairness of recommendations (nominations). 8. Experts shall strictly implement the recusal system, and shall not allow any behavior that should be avoided or not evasive. 9. All relevant personnel are not allowed to intercede for candidates in any form or disclose any relevant confidential information. 10. All relevant personnel are not allowed to accept gifts or cash gifts from candidates and their units, and must not disclose expert information, as well as discussions, evaluations, complaints, investigation and handling opinions of candidates, voting results, etc.
