She had dispersed, she came back. Smoke is again covering much of the northeastern United States. From the Midwest to the East Coast, some 120 million people are on alert because of air quality. On Wednesday, the warnings were particularly alarming for cities of Chicago or Detroit where the air was considered very unhealthy.

Air quality was considered poor in the western New York city of Buffalo. This was also the case for the city of Pittsburgh, also covered in a grayish mist. It is that after descending from the south, this air polluted with fine particles is pushed by the winds towards the east coast.

Residents of cities in the region are again advised to limit their outdoor activities, especially if they are part of the at-risk populations, asthmatic elderly or young children. New York Governor Kathy Hochul is asking residents to be vigilant. For the moment no trace of orange sky, but this does not mean that the air is less toxic. Wearing a mask is again recommended. And distributions have already taken place in several cities.
