• Family Her son Augusto Algueró, the guardian angel of Carmen Sevilla who is not separated from her in these delicate moments

She was the bride of Spain. Carmen Sevilla's heart was desired on both sides of the Atlantic. Marlon Brando, Charlton Heston and Yul Brynner wanted her for themselves in Hollywood; Mario Moreno Cantinflas gave him a diamond solitaire to go with him to Mexico; Carlos Eleta, owner of media, wanted to take it to Panama and in Spain he gave pumpkins to the bullfighter Carlos Arruza, Manolete's rival in the rings, and to the businessman Ricardo Fuster, who gave a ticket for a flat on the Paseo de la Castellana.

However, the actress decided to marry the composer Augusto Algueró in 1961, a marriage that was full of infidelities, so the actress divorced in 1974. As a result of that union, their son Augustito was born. In 1974, Carmen and businessman Vicente Patuel began to live in sin as she was still married to the composer. For the first four years of their relationship they lived in Madrid but, in 1978, Patuel told his wife to leave the cinema. And that's how they moved to the Extremaduran estate of Herrera del Duque, where the couple used to make some reports outside the social hustle and bustle of the capital.

There they had found the longed-for peace. He, who had been an entrepreneur of several cinemas in the Gran Vía of Madrid had decided to invest everything in the field. She, one of the best-known stars of Spanish cinema, left her halo to count ears. The calm began to fade as debts began to appear. The estate was a constant source of expenses. They couldn't cope with everything. Carmen sold diamonds, emeralds and pearls without heeding the advice of her friend Lola Flores, who repeatedly stressed not to do so.

When they were finally free from sin, they decided to formalize their relationship. As one of the most beloved characters of the pink press, the magazines struggled to get the exclusive of the wedding, however, who took the cat to the water was Jaime Peñafiel (91), who knew the protagonist of a lifetime and who could get from the editor Antonio Asensio -founder of Grupo Z and, therefore, owner of La Revista- no less than 40 million pesetas (240,000 euros) of those of 1985.

The bride and groom signed in the courts of Arcos de la Frontera (Cádiz) and later went to the splendid estate of the descendant of the Duke of Ahumada who had ceded the palace-farmhouse to Peñafiel so that the desired photos could be taken. The veteran journalist didn't want anyone to blow up the news of the year.

On that farm where they lived, Carmen tried to overcome two abortions as best she could. His greatest desire was to have given Augustus brothers, but God did not want to give him that pleasure. Everything seemed to be going well, but theactress suffered, as she declared when she attended the 1997 heart program Tómbola: "In 17 years I have cried a lot on the farm. When I fell asleep, I would say, 'My God, will this life be for me? Will I get used to it?" Unfortunately for Carmen, it all ended in 2000 when Vicente died suddenly at the age of 68. At the funeral the whole country saw a completely heartbroken widow who kindly attended to the press.

Aware that the farm Los Valles, of 727 hectares, had been his love nest at the same time as his prison, in 2003 he decided to put it up for sale for 6 million euros. From that moment, already widowed, she lived in her apartment on Pintor Rosales Street where she had Eugenia Silva and Paloma Cuevas as neighbors.
