An ultra-Catholic, an anti-abortion activist, a leader who denies domestic violence. The same person, who becomes the second power in the Valencian region, is really worrying for our democracy, "responded the Unidas-Podemos party (Spanish left), after the appointment of Llanos Massó as head of the Parliament of Valencia.

Originally, the new president of the regional parliament was supposed to be Carlos Flores, but Vox changed its mind, as he has already been convicted of domestic violence. Llanos Massó is one of the leaders of HazteOir, an anti-abortion lobby that wants to force pregnant women to listen to the pulse of their embryo to dissuade them from having an abortion or that fiercely opposes the LGBTIQ collective or the recent national legislation on abortion.

The Catalan and Basque parties accuse Llanos Massó of wanting to put an end to Valencian, the regional language co-official with Castilian. As for the Socialist Party it believes that its appointment is a very bad omen and "perfectly illustrates the desire of the far right to be more and more present in the country's institutions."
