Recently, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, together with relevant departments, jointly held a video and telephone conference on cracking down on and rectifying illegal social organizations, fully mobilizing and deploying all relevant departments in various localities to act quickly, and with more targeted and powerful measures, from mid-June to mid-December 2023, carry out a six-month special action to combat and rectify illegal social organizations, and make every effort to prevent and resolve major risks in the field of social organizations.

The so-called illegal social organizations refer to organizations that carry out activities in the name of social organizations without registration by the civil affairs departments, or continue to operate in the name of social organizations after their registration is revoked, as well as organizations that carry out activities other than preparatory activities during the preparatory period. In recent years, all relevant departments in all localities have persisted in combining routine supervision with special rectification, improving the normalized crackdown and rectification mechanism, and forming a strong punishment and deterrent to illegal social organizations. But there is no escaping the fact that illegal social organizations still appear from time to time.

The main reason why illegal social organizations are difficult to eradicate is that the organizers of illegal social organizations are very cunning and rack their brains to convince people of their "authenticity" and "authority" in various ways, or use the words "China", "China" and "state", or use the name of state organs and subordinate institutions of public institutions, or use the cloak of legal organizations as cover, or use the banner of culture, charity, health, and Chinese culture. Therefore, we must make great efforts to crack down on and rectify illegal social organizations in order to prevent all kinds of risks and harms they bring to society, and to protect the interests of the state, enterprises and the masses to the greatest extent.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs, together with relevant departments, jointly launched a six-month special operation to crack down on and rectify illegal social organizations, whether from the level of understanding the problem, the time of rectification, and the means of rectification, all of which have demonstrated the firm determination of relevant parties and are expected to achieve more and greater governance results.
